Things
You Should Know
My clients are my partners. The success of
your session will be greatly improved if you are informed and prepared. As
always, please do not hesitate to contact me
with questions.
BEFORE YOUR SESSION
- Show up a few minutes before your first session to fill
out a brief intake form.
- Consult your physician before receiving massage therapy
if you have any major medical concerns or conditions. For
certain conditions you may be required to provide a note of consent from
your doctor.
- CANCELLATION POLICY
- If you need to cancel your session, please do so at
least 24 hours before your apointment time. You will be billed a
$25 fee for late cancellation or missed appointments.
- PLEASE reschedule if your are within the first week of
a cold or the flu. Massage therapy releases toxins locked in your
tissues, taxing your immune system which is already over-worked when you
are sick.
DURING YOUR SESSION
- If possible, before and after your session, allow time
for yourself to relax and come to center.
- I encourage you to communicate your needs during your
session. If you need more or less pressure, need more focus in a particular
area or have insights about our work, please speak up! It will greatly
help us both.
- Breathe. Deeper work can be intense. Open, relaxed
breathing —
especially in the tight spots — will help your muscles relax and make the work we're
doing more effective.
AFTER YOUR SESSION
- Drink lots of water! Massage kicks up toxins and it's a
great time to flush them out of your system.
- Particularly after deeper work, you may feel a bit
tender up to a couple of days following your session. This is normal and
will pass in a day or so. (Drinking water will help!) Other more uncommon
"side effects" may include nausea or flu-like symptoms. Again,
water water water.
- If you have any questions about your
session, let
me know.
